Worship Gathering Image

At HBC we gather together four times a week to worship our Creator God through the Lord Jesus Christ, encourage one another, listen to the Bible and have it explained, and pray for one another and the world around us, both close and nearby. We hope our gatherings help us struggle well with life as we seek to follow the Lord Jesus and His direction for us individually and as a church community.

On Tuesday mornings at 9:30 our Crossroads congregation meets. Crossroads is designed for adults with a disability and it is a great time of fun, listening to the Lord Jesus and helping each other. We have a short message from the Bible along with our Crossroads worship Band supporting our singing. Crossroads is followed by morning tea, an entertainment hour and lunch together. Crossroads runs in partnership with New Life Uniting Church Robina who also have a Crossroads gathering on Friday mornings at 9:30am.

Once a fortnight on Friday nights our Amplify service meets at our HBC Ministry Centre at 6:00pm. Amplify is a gathering of a wide variety of people from ages 4 to 50, with all different background, lives and beliefs. We are a community that seeks to help us look to the Lord Jesus, worship Him and engage with His values and guidance. It is an energetic night that is part of the HBC Youth ministry with a meal before we start and supper and coffee after for those who can at a local restaurant.

Each week on Sunday mornings we have two worship gatherings at 7:45am and 9:30am. Both are characterised by ‘dignified informality’ which fits our Gold Coast culture! At both services people from the congregation contribute in different ways from leading worship, prayer, testimonies on occasion and other items. Our meeting at 7:45 is a quieter meeting with a smaller band for musical accompaniment. At 9:30 we have a full band accompaniment and also provide Kids Church and HYPE for younger teenagers alongside the service so more families attend this gathering.

The same preacher and message is shared at both morning services.

We love gathering together at HBC, and would love to see you join us!

Matt's Blog

By this all men will know

This is blog 8 in a series on the new multi-site Baptist church on the northern Gold Coast. My previous blogs have been, mostly, about “us” as church and the impact the multi-site structure might have on those in the church. However, in our particular example, although acutely aware of the impact the multi-site model will have on the church, our reason for proceeding has been more about “out there” than “in here”! We have consistently reminded both churches that proceeding down this line is about positioning ourselves under God’s leadership and direction to be in the best place to plant more churches around the northern Gold Coast.... "Anxiety"

This emotion is a companion to most of us. At times it can drag a person to the pits of despair and sometimes it can keep us there. I know that I have to deal with it regularly. While this issue can fill books there are probably two broad types of anxiety. Firstly, there is the anxiety of an unknown situation where you are stepping out into unfamiliar territory such as going onto a stage in front of many people or going on a journey into unknown territory. This anxiety is often linked to our flight or fight instincts. Secondly there is our anxiety about everything else. Our relationships, our job, our ability to survive in this world, our home and so on.... Continue Reading »
