    Helensvale Campus

In 2010 HBC is a growing church with 178 members included in its 539 regular attenders, a growth of 43% over the last six years. The two Sunday morning and Friday night services cater for a wide age group from early childhood to late retirees. Crossroads on a Tuesday morning serves adults with disabilities and their support workers. There are 22 LIFE groups alongside ministry teams in a variety of ministries and activities both inside and outside the church. HBC is a warmly evangelical church community with an open heart to see the Lord Jesus’ divine direction through being submitted regularly to the Bible, praying frequently and being open to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Our 9:30am service is diverse and energetic as we celebrate God’s greatness, open the Bible and love and care for each other over a cup of tea. Children are welcome to worship with their parents or carers, and Crèche is available at 10 am (upstairs in the HBC Meeting Room)

Parents & carer’s are very welcome to join their children and be active participants – we’re sure you will enjoy every minute!

My previous blogs have been, mostly, about “us” as church and the impact the multi-site structure might have on those in the church. However, in our particular example, although acutely aware of the impact the multi-site model will have on the church, our reason for proceeding has been more about “out there” than “in here”! "Anxiety"

This emotion is a companion to most of us. At times it can drag a person to the pits of despair and sometimes it can keep us there. I know that I have to deal with it regularly. While this issue can fill books there are probably two broad types of anxiety. Firstly, there is the anxiety of an unknown situation where you are stepping out into unfamiliar territory such as going onto a stage in front of many people or going on a journey into unknown territory. This anxiety is often linked to our flight or fight instincts. Secondly there is our anxiety about everything else. Our relationships, our job, our ability to survive in this world, our home and so on.... Continue Reading »
